[music |In Flames-Goliaths Disarm Their Davids]

Is there still anyone at all who reads livejournal???

I don't even care what I put in this thing anymore and who reads it for that matter. Life is weird. Things that seem right, end up going in a different directions. Things that seem easy end up being harder than I could have imagined they ever would become. Things that are wrong are starting to feel right. Things that are unattainable seem within reach. Everything happens for a reason, and I think that with time, everything will work out for the best. Everything will work the way it should. Karma is funny that way I hope. Maybe all of this is to make when that thing finally happens that much better. Who knows. I'm not going to go into detail about all of this. Don't ask, I won't tell. Who reads these?!?

Merry Christmas

Time to dust off the livejournal [Oct. 19th, 2006|07:25 pm]
So I hate the idea that I have to keep my opinions about certain things to myself. I mean, I want to say them, but my conscience is telling me not to. I want to let it all out, let it be known what I think and feel, and everything else, but I keep biting my tongue and keeping it to myself. This is a useless post because I'm not going to talk about this to anyone, but it is at least letting me vent a little bit.

[music |Merv Collins-Ghosts]

So I got a new phone, but its the same number, but the phone has V-Cast on it and I've been spending so much time putting songs into my phone, and thank god I have that option, work would suck without it. So far the selection has been pretty varried. So Far it looks like this:

Symphony X: Accolade II

Buckethead: Big Sur Moon
Buckethead: Binge and Grab
Beatles: Blackbird

Opeth: Deliverance

Bowling For Soup: Emily
Opeth: Ending Credits
Buckethead: For Mom
System of a Down: Forest
Bowling For Soup: Girl All the Bad Guys Want
Porcupine Tree: Gravity Eyelids
Bowling For Soup: Greatest Day
Beatles: Here Comes the Sun
Opeth: Hope Leaves
Col. Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains: Ignorance is Bliss
Porcupine Tree: Lazarus
Stevie Ray Vaughan: Little Wing

Dream Theater: Metropolis pt.1
Frank Zappa: Montana
John Mayer: My Stupid Mouth
Buckethead: Nun Chuka Kata

[music |Camel-Never Let Go]

I guess I should update, since I haven't this year....

Who would have thought, I'm a troublemaker. No Details until later.

Everything finally seems like it is working itself out, and I like the way things are going. Now I just need to get my education back on track (go back to school) and then everything will be like normal again.

Now I am going to ramble for a minute

Elizabethtown is a really good movie. I bought it a few days after it came out. There is a lot of good songs on it.

Waiting... is one of the best comedies I've seen in a while.

There is only a few cds I want right now, and none of them are my usual taste in music. It is kinda wierd how things work out that way. Things I wouldn't have been caught dead listening to in high school are now being listened to more than ever.

The Howie Day cd is good. Teitur is better in my opinion. He's kinda like a british jack johnson.
Jack Johnson Really is as good as people say he is. I have all of his cds and they are all really good.
Jason Mraz is under rated if you ask me. Mr. A-Z is a really good cd from start to finish.
Matt Nathonson could be the next big thing if he gets noticed

On the complete opposite side of things...
Trivium is an awesome band and that cd I can listen to over and over again.
Avenge Sevenfold is better than I thought they were going to be.
I am finally understanding the hype around Mars Volta
I can't get into Coheed and Cambria.
Opeth still rules.
Soilwork sold out, but the old stuff is still awesome.

On the other side of that...
Jimi Hendrix is still the best guitarist ever.
Stevie Ray Vaughn is a close, almost tied for first, second.
The Allman brothers band is really really good.

And on the last side of things as far as music goes...
Buckethead is by far the most talented and diverse guitarist/musician alive today
Steve Vai needs to stop singing and start playing more.
Frank Zappa is underratted
Porcupine Tree should be famous here, but I'm kinda glad they're not because its like the little band that nobody but me and a few others know about.
The same with Opeth.

To finish this entry...today will be a day I remember for all the right reasons. Today was one of the best days I've had in a while. Again, no details until later.

That's It. I have nothing else to say here

Comment on this, I want to see who still reads my livejournal

What a day [Nov. 16th, 2005|04:12 pm]

[music |yesterday-The Beatles]

chances are just that....chances. there is the possibility that you will succeed and then there is the possibility that you will fail.

I do not know what the outcome of today's chance was. Success or Failure. It could be either one depending on how it is looked at.

Don't ask for details, I am not going to tell. This was on my mind and I felt like putting it in here.

First update from the new place [Sep. 26th, 2005|01:19 pm]

LJ Interests meme results

  1. billy connolly:
    Billy is a comedian that my dad told me about and I have to say that he is the best stand-up comic I have ever seen on film. Dane Cook is a close second, but nobody can compare to Billy...and he's Scottish too!
  2. brand new sin:
    I first saw this band with Brian Laity at the Black Label Society show at Harpos. I had never heard of them, but they were awesome and the cd is even better. I played the cd too many times though and I don't like their new one that much either, but a strong metal band no doubt.
  3. disturbed:
    Believe was on of the best albums that came out in 03(?) I really liked that and Toxicity by System of a Down. I saw them at Ozzfest that year with Brian Laity again. They were pretty good live. Other than Ozzy in my opinion they were the best band live that year.
  4. godsmack:
    They are kinda like Disturbed but not as good. Ok metal band with a few catchy songs. Wouldn't want to see them live though.
  5. jimi hendrix:
    The Greatest Guitar Player ever. Not based on pure talent, but the way he revolutionized the instrument and the fact that he wasn't afraid to take chances with his playing. Jimi Hendrix needs no explaination
  6. lord of the rings:
    I couldn't stand the books, but the movies were really good. I went to see the first two with my dad and Jordan, and the third one in Florida with my dad when we were both dead tired, but we sat through the whole thing and it is still the best movie I have ever seen in the theaters...I saw Episode III too and it can't compare to Return of the King.
  7. music in general:
    I like to think that I have a pretty wide range of musical tastes. I enjoy most everything about music, I have over 800 cds so I think that I have a pretty good understanding of different genres of music, but I can't go a day without listening to something. Music is something I love in life.
  8. pink floyd:
    The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Division Bell. That's all that needs to be said
  9. robin williams:
    A good actor, funny comedian (who steals Billy Connolly's stuff and American-izes it btw) seems like a fun guy to hang out with.
  10. steve vai:
    A Musician in every sense of the word. He started his career by transcribing Frank Zappa's music. He started a solo career as a guitarist. He was the guitarist for David Lee Roth when he was on top of the world as a solo act. He has his own record label. He has appeared on over 30 cds. Steve Vai is what a musician should be.

Good Bye Berkley [Sep. 4th, 2005|05:49 pm]
Well, yesterday was my last day in Berkley and my first day in Troy. Sean and I are now offically moved in and we have already made the place like home. We don't have a computer yet, so I may not be online that much (at all) but I am getting one in about a week or so.

Also, Tomorrow, Monday is my Birthday. I will be 21. Call me and let me know! (248)840-1759! I'll give you directions to our place if you do. That's all for now. I'll update more (with pictures?) when we get a computer.

Dane Cook Concert [Aug. 31st, 2005|06:37 pm]
[music |Opeth-Baying of the Hounds]

So the other night, Saturday night to be exact, Emily and I went to see her favorite comedian Dane Cook in concert. I have heard his stuff and while he was funny, I've heard better. Seeing him do his thing in concert though was one of the funniest and most entertaining thing I have ever seen. He talked for a long time, almost two hours and he said some old jokes, some new jokes, and expanded the stories on some of his favorite jokes. All in all, I have to say that even though there was no music, this is one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

"If you ever use my driveway to turn around in again, I will slit your fucking throat. Dude, are you out of your fucking mind?!? hahaha, two birds, one stone baby."

"The first knuckle is the 'hey what are you doing' knuckle, any further than that, prepared to be donkey kicked. It's a natural reflex."

"...So then I ran up and smacked a nun in the face; and he said, "You really are out of your fucking mind!!!"

"Oh my god, that lady just got hit in the face with a tire!!! A tire just hit that lady in the face, it was horrible. Hey look, they are showing it again in slow motion and at a different angle. She swings her arms in hope of deflecting the tire but it doesn't work. hahaha"

and finally,

"Hahaha John. who the hell is John??? So later that night, she slept punched me in the face and I was mad because she didn't even know she did it. So the longer this went on, the more mad I got to when I finally reached the boiling point, so I *pop* punched her back and pretended to be asleep again."

so all together, it was an awesome concert.

I'm moving this weekend, so come and visit. If you want the address, call me and I'll give it to you.

As a few of you know, Emily and I like to write notes to one another. So for our two year, I rented a video camera, taped me reading some of these notes, as well as a few new ones. I also bought her 24 long step red roses. One for each month we have been together. The tape was the big thing though, words do not do this surprise justice, but you'll have to take my word on it that it was the nicest thing I have ever done. We also went to Champs for lunch and later went to see Wedding Crashers at night followed by ice cream, and then we went to a park and sat on a hill and talked while she layed in my arms. All in all, it was a wonderful day. That should answer the few comments that I had. I'll update more later.

Dream Cruise and Renessence festival tomorrow.

[music |Coldplay-Clocks]

I haven't updated in a while, so I thought that I would do it now. A lot has been going on these past few weeks. First, I went to Cedar Point last Monday with Juliee, it was fun. I hadn't been there in about two years so it was a good time to go on all of the rides that I missed. We got lost on the way there due to construction and lost on the way back, but not as bad, due to the same reason. The next day, Emily and I went to go and get the new Dane Cook cd/dvd. We went to the Best Buy on John R. and the store was closed because they were struck by lightning the night before. We got 10% off coupons due to the inconvience. So we went to the mall instead and got it there. The cd is pretty funny, but the dvd was kind of a let down, because it wasn't anything new. It is everything that is on his website. It's still good, but I was hoping for something new. In other news, I am about to get a bonus at work for selling more than anyone in the district. A little bit of extra cash always comes in handy. Tomorrow Emily and I are going to see Bowling for Soup for the fourth time, and then there is August 18th, that should be an interesting day, and then the Berkley Cruise August 19 and the Dream Cruise August 20th. Then we are going to see Dane Cook at Meadowbrook on August 27th, we may go see Bowling for Soup in this theater being broadcast live from Austin Texas August 30. And then things get really crazy...

I am moving September 1st into my new apartment with my brother. It is in Troy, so I won't be too far away, but I am leaving Berkley.

Then September 5th, I turn 21. My dad and I are going to the casino in Detroit that day/night, because I have no interest in getting drunk on my birthday. Some time in here is the Renasonce festival, my dad's birthday, my dad moving to Chicago, Emily's birthday, she'll be 18, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and then I'll be starting school at Baker for my Bacholor's degree.

Also somewhere in here, JP and I are going to go to Cleveland, as long as we can get tickets, or Chicago becuase tickets are still available there, to go and see the John Mayer Trio in concert. That is going to be fun.

I only really wanted to update becuase I found a new picture icon and I wanted to show it off.

I'll update more later.

more or less how I feel right now [Jun. 9th, 2005|07:06 pm]
[mood | sad]

Yesterday
(Lennon/McCartney)

Lead vocal: Paul

~~~
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
